Alexa Meade
Alexa Meade is an artist and photographer who has made a unique way of combining art with photography. She does this by painting on human bodies and also the backgrounds before photographing them which give an illusion of different dimensions. This kind of technique is known as trompe l’oeil, a style of art first developed in ancient Greece, but the name itself originated in France. The term can be defined as a painting style which depicts realistic details from photography. Meade’s work of art looks so real that in the photograph it stands out more than other people in the photo. In her photography she paints on people and photographs them in a way that they look like statues. Each piece of art exhibits a different story based on the backgrounds and the color the subjects have been painted. Meade paints the backgrounds in a way that gives an illusion of different dimensions that go beyond our Mundane 3D world, which might have been inspired by supernatural shows. In addition to people, she also paints different objects, including chairs, cars and bags. She’s done many different projects with this style of art such as “God is a Woman.” Her photography is a reflection of her inner world where all possibilities exist such as a world that goes beyond our 3D world and is full of hopefulness and wonders.
